It would be far simpler if all metals were classified using the same system. For any metal you pick there is a host of different classification numbers. Every country has its own system and many identification systems are favored over others.

How can you simplify the situation? Become familiar with the different classification systems and take a look at how the metals you use everyday are classified. Once you can read how the system is laid out, you can understand how the properties relate to the metal.
