OSHA needs employers to train all employees to properly use the PPE. They need to know when and what type of PPE should be worn when needed. They need to know how to wear, remove, and properly fit the PPE. They should also know its limitations and its correct maintenance and destruction of worn PPE.
Employers need to make sure that employees understand their PPE training before they begin doing tasks with PPE. Any time a change occurs in the shop requiring new PPE or if the PPE is not being worn properly, retaining will be involved. Always ask your supervisor if you have any questions.
