3010 – 07 – Wearing Eyes and Face Protection

Eye and face protection is required to protect against debris, hot metal, intense light radiation, and harmful vapors. If not worn correctly or at all, then injuries can occur.
There are many demands for eye and face protection. They should all have:

• Protection from specific workplace hazards.
• A proper and comfortable wear
• Clear vision and movement.
• Tough and easily cleaned
• Allows other PPE to still work.
Sometimes, employers will have eye and face protection for a position rather than a specific employee. All PPE should be cleaned after each use. Protection eye wear only should be worn by the one person it is for.
