Sawing uses a blade that has a sequence of teeth on its edges. This cutting process produces chips. Typically it is used to cut a narrow opening into the material. The opening can be as small as a groove or even separate the material.
Whenever the blade is used on material, there are chips created by the blade’s teeth. These chips collect in the space between the teeth called the gullet. Whenever the chips makes its way to the end of the workpiece it ends up removing itself from the gullet.
